Shea Wells

Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200) & 200 Hour YTT Teacher & Travel Staff Member

Shea was born and raised in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in 1997, she followed the setting sun westward to Flagstaff, Arizona to pursue her career as a full time artist.

In 2002, she moved back to WV and received a master’s degree in Art Education. She has been living in Fayetteville, WV for the past 17 years teaching art, growing her art business, Second Nature Fine Art, working as a whitewater river guide on the New and Gauley Rivers and raising her two beautiful boys, Keller and Nash.

After a tailbone injury during childbirth in 2011, Shea turned to yoga for therapy from her friend and yoga teacher, Randy Boyd. Randy introduced Shea to a new school of yoga called Ashaya. This alignment based yoga practice provided the perfect balance between helping to heal her chronic pain and focusing on uplifting heart virtues that provided spiritual awakening and growth that has forever changed her life.

Shea completed her 200 hour Ashaya Yoga Teacher Certification through her mentor, Randy Boyd. Teaching yoga has quickly become a passion for Shea. After several years of soul searching, she has found the perfect balance of family, art, whitewater and yoga.

Angie Edmunds

Certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT® 200, YACEP®) & Acro Yoga Master Trainer & 200 Hour YTT Lead Trainer & Travel Staff Member
Angie Edmunds is responsible for many of our workshops and events.  She has a vision of the newest, hottest trends in yoga and loves bringing them to Yoga Power.
She teaches Acro (solar and lunar) yoga and partner yoga. She also teaches Hatha yoga and Yoga for Athletes, focusing on functional mobility. Over the years, she has taught classes ranging from restorative to hot yoga.
She recently received certification through PESI in Yoga and Mindfulness for stress and anxiety in children, adolescents and adults.  

Arielle Whitlock

Certified Yoga Teacher 
Imperfect, down-to-earth, and lighthearted, Arielle enjoys breathing, moving, learning, creating, and savoring life's small gifts.
She is a wife, mother, friend, artist, student and teacher, and fills these roles with a mix of both passion and playfulness. As a mother of two young children, she is dedicated to sharing a mindset of mindfulness to better the lives of those around her and impact the world for a more positive future generation.
She has committed to the practice of yoga for over 12 years, and believes in its power to reveal the highest version of self within each of our heart-centers. Impassioned to share these teachings, Arielle graduated from Randy Boyd's esteemed Ashaya Yoga 200-hour YTT in 2017.
Join Arielle as she teaches the power of mindset, self-acceptance, and presence coupled with breath, movement, and an emphasis on intricate alignment cues for a heat-building, body-working, heart-opening, and mind-centering practice.

Deanne Criste

Certified Yoga Teacher (E-RYT® 200, YACEP®) & Certified Aerial Yoga Instructor & 200 Hour YTT Lead Trainer & Travel Staff Member

Deanne recently located here from Augusta, Georgia. She began her yoga journey 13 years ago with a VHS tape, mat, block, and strap bought as a kit for $20. From there she learned so much more than just poses, but she learned about herself.  Deanne's journey took her to Savannah, Georgia for teacher training 2010. Deanne has taught at several yoga studios, college wellness centers, and retirement communities within Georgia.  She has also has a Group Fitness Certification, a Water Exercise Certification, and an Aerial Yoga Certification.
Deanne is excited to bring her love of yoga to West Virginia.

Tom Blankenship

Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200) & Certified Acro Yoga Instructor &  Certified Barre Instructor & 200 Hour YTT Teacher & Travel Staff Member
Thomas Blankenship is a W.I.T.S certified personal fitness trainer who holds the phrase "keep moving forward" close to his heart...literally. This motto has served him well while rehabilitating himself from cardiac disease and open heart surgery. It was between surgeries when Tom found yoga and he has been hooked ever since. As a result of these experiences, he has a passions for helping other people recover from medical issues and improving their quality of life.  He enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, riding bicycles and weight training. Tom invites you to join him in the adventure of life. 
He completed his 200 hour Ashaya Yoga training with Randy Boyd, his Barre Teacher Training through Brown Dog Yoga, and his Acro Teacher Training through the Yoga Power School.
First Level Yoga is a vinyasa class for students who have some basic knowledge of yoga and teaches:
  • Mainly in English terms
  • Basic Sanskrit
  • Basic breathing techniques
  • Use of props & modifications 
  • No arm balances or inversions
Class is very slow paced and focuses on developing clear and safe alignment in foundational poses. Come to learn and enjoy yoga in a supportive, non-judgemental environment.
