Jamie grew up in Logan, West Virginia. She attended Marshall University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration majoring in accounting and a Masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance.
After college, she spent 15 years as an accountant working her way to Chief Financial Officer of a major coal company. She then became a Registered Representative for a national financial services company where she worked for 5 years.
Jamie started her educational consulting practice in 1998 and became a Certified Educational Planner. She has helped thousands of families through the college admissions and financial aid process. Jamie's dedication, energy, and enthusiasm have contributed to the growth of her business and the success of many life changing decisions she's helped her students make. In 2011, she decided to expand her business to include a tutoring center so that she could help her students lay a solid foundation for a positive academic career.
Jamie was a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the states of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Upstate New York and was featured as a Success Story for the West Virginia District of the Small Business Association (SBA).
Jamie has delivered over 150 business and motivational presentations for corporations, schools, colleges, associations, and business meetings. She is one of the most in-demand speakers and business consultants specializing in the areas of college admissions and financial aid.
For the past 13 years, Jamie has been a guest speaker on a very successful talk radio show called "Ask the Expert" on WCHS 580 AM. She has been featured in the media on numerous radio and television shows as well as being quoted in feature articles.
She began her yoga practice 12 years ago and loves to practice yoga anywhere she travels.
Jamie will blast a lineup of Drake, Big Sean, Lil Wayne, Miguel, and more new and classic hip-hop tracks, syncing an hour-long vinyasa flow practice to the high-energy beat of each track. The result is an intense, but hugely addictive experience that you’ll want to repeat again and again.
The music gets you out of your head, allows you to get lost in the beat and to find a lightness in your practice. It helps you to remember that you don't have to take life so seriously all the time. Practicing sun salutations to Jay-Z and balancing in Dancer Pose while Beyonce is blaring through the speakers has to put you in a better mood. Yoga plus great tunes equals magic!
Fee is $10 per person. Warning: Music contains explicit language.
Yoga & Champagne Brunch is different than a typical brunch in that champagne cocktails are served after an hour long yoga class with Jamie Dickenson (RYT 500).
A great yoga class, while enjoying a glass of your favorite champagne concoction, followed by brunch is an ideal way to spend New Year's Eve morning. We will provide orange and cranberry juice so you can enjoy mimosas or poinsettas. A light breakfast and coffee will be served with your drinks.
If you agree with us that day drinking is totally acceptable, sign up for this fun event!
Fee is $15 per person. Must be 21 years old to attend.
